The Ontario Investment Office has released an infographic highlighting its place in the North American IT ecosystem, where it ranks as the second largest IT region after California.
According to the infographic, the 20,600 companies in Ontario’s IT sector are producing CAD$32 billion in revenue and CAD$7.8 billion in exports. Talent wise, the province has 280,700 workers, 85% of which hold a post-secondary degree, alongside 40,000 graduates in math, engineering, and science every year.
Just a handful of the tech companies operating in the Canadian province right now are Amazon, Apple, Cisco, Facebook, Google, HP, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Twitter, Xerox, and Wipro, most of which are also contributing to the province’s CAD$3.2 billion in R&D funding.
