Uber Helps Mexico Earthquake Efforts with Free Rides

Ride sharing firm Uber is offering free travel to more than 600 collection centers, hostels, and hospitals in Mexico City, Puebla, and Cuernavaca to aid in the rescue efforts following yesterday’s 7.1 magnitude earthquake.

Each Uber user will have 2 free trips to and from the sites, listed here. The maximum distance of the trips is 10 kilometers.

This initiative only applies for travel with uberX and will be active until 11:59 pm tonight.

“The entire Uber Mexico team is working to make the application work as well as possible and move people with their loved ones. Also, we are in contact with the authorities to be clear of the current needs in the affected areas to define and implement more aid actions,” the company said.
